Greetings group,

I am new here.

I run a small ghost hunting group out of Houston, TX that we call WeirdTxEVP. We've been to tons of cemeteries and have caught hundreds of EVPs. One of my personal favorite spots we went to was Joe Byrd Prison Cemetery in Huntsville, TX, where the unclaimed dead and also executed inmates are buried that lived and died in the Texas Prison System. What makes this place especially interesting to me is that the notorious serial killer Henry Lee Lucas is buried there.

I am very much into ITC (Instrumental Trans-Communication), which encompasses other means of spirit communication, included video feedback loops (Klaus Schreiber method of capturing images of spirits on television), DRV (Direct Radio Voice, where a static frequency on the radio has voices that communicate and respond to questions), etc. I believe in spirit contacts, and have recently begun obtaining EVPs in my apartment (though I do not consider the place haunted).

I personally believe everyone can access the paranormal. It just takes some time and patience, and willingness of spirits to communicate.

Though our group is called WeirdTxEVP, our username on youtube is Paulzdaman1.

Here's a preview of some of the stuff on our channel:

This video covers a lucky couple days at my appartment where we recieved multiple EVPs.

The channel also covers abandoned buildings/urbex (uban/rural exploring), ghost towns, and obscure figures of the occult, such as Abbe Boullan and Montague Summers.

Please feel free to comment, subscribe, friend me (on either youtube or livejournal). My livejournal however is of a more personal nature and has much less to do with the paranormal.

We moved into a new house about six months ago and it's been quiet, much to our surprise. We had heard that a new house should be blessed first thing in case there are any harsh spirits or wandering spirits that might cause harm. But there hasn't been much to cause a lot of worry.

However, lately I've noticed some odd acivity. Maybe it's always been happening, but none of us were aware of it. Something has been shaking my bed at night. At first I thought it was my boyfriend's leg twitching, but it wasn't. Sometimes the bed would shake even when he's not there. It wasn't violent shaking, either. It's more like a quick jolt of "hey, wake up." Also the blinds rattle on occassion even when the windows are all closed, which is the creepier part of it all. The other night, I witnessed two orbs in the room. No way for them to be headlights or anything because our room is at the end of the house and the back gates don't sink up with any of the neighbors. The only way for light to reach the ceiling (it's angled) is for someone to have a flashlight.

The odd thing is, this only started as soon as I hit my fifth month of pregnancy. We're both in tune with other worldly things. My boyfriend had a shadow follow him for YEARS before the move (we assumed it liked the city we were at too much to follow us here, since neither of us have seen it) and he is a bit of a clairvoyant. I would see ghosts on occassion and would sometimes hear things. So we're not surprised if the baby is also in tune with this "oddness".

But with the activity only starting to recently, I'm curious if my pregnancy is causing the activity or if the baby is attracting spirits into our home.

I found nothing online, aside from supersticions that my mother raised me on.

I read up on some old ghostly experiences I had and recalled something about animals being able to sense things that we cannot. I'm not a skeptic when it comes to this. I've always had cats and dogs around me and thought I'd share the only two experiences on this that I can remember clearly.

1) I was about seven or eight and was trying to get my cat out of the house for the night (my mom has never liked the cats sleeping indoors), but she refused to out the kitchen door. She was just focused on this one spot a foot or so in front of the kitchen door and a foot away from her. So I tried to push her with my legs, but she kept growling and hissing. I honestly thought she was mad at me for kicking her out. So I tell her I'm sorry, and I gave her one last nudge. She jumped like a foot or so clear OVER this empty space and jolted right out the door.

2) I moved about three months ago. We lived in a small one bedroom apartment that had four spirits, as far as I knew. there were two shadows that stayed in the bedroom. One that came and went and would knock on the bookcase and our computer desk. And the last was the spirit of an animal. I was the only one who experienced the dog spirit. So every once in a while, I would hear this clear loud growling, regardless if it was quiet or if I had my music on full blast or even if all the doors were locked and the windows closed. I know for a fact it was not any of my neighbors dog's or anything because I heard it in the living room while I was in the kitchen. The closest dog was across the street two houses down. This happened when my dog was about five months old. When she was that young, she did not for any reason bark in the apartment. So out of the blue one day I hear her growling for the first time. She's looking at this one spot where the computer is and her hair is on end. She starts growling louder, and the next thing I know she lets out this loud high bark. I think that's when my boyfriend stopped denying that we most likely have one spirit that wants to cause harm. On occassion she would still growl a warning to that one spot, but never really barked at it again.

It’s simply unexplainable. Every time I let my imagination wander, I feel as though I’m being watched. I know the old man who built the house we currently live in died under the front porch one hot afternoon. He had cancer and was going, and it was peaceful enough, but the house wasn’t finished. We’ve been working on it steadily, slowly finishing the few projects that were left undone. I think he’s happy with the progress, but I’m not sure. I think I’ve found a way to ask, to let him know we’ll finish the house, to help him find rest, at the Unexplainable Store. Click Here! to visit their website. Maybe the unexplainable store could help you too.

Hello,

I am new here, and, like many of you have been searching all of my life for some sort of proof of the afterlife.

To be honest, I haven't found much and despite my collections of ghost stories, my avid watching of supernatural reality television, and my visits to haunted locations, I still find myself in need  of proof that SOMETHING exists after this.  I'm assuming I'm not alone.

I call this being a Ghost Skeptic....someone who is quite obsessed with the supernatural and life after death, but someone who still doesn't quite believe it exists.

So I'm writing a book...an article...I'm trying to gather a collection of TRUE stories from people who have had experiences.  I'm not the first one, nor will I be the last, but this is something I am very dedicated to.

Please, if you have a story, let me know in your reply.  If you'd rather tell me over private e-mails, I'd be happy to do that as well, just give me your e-mail address as I will be making ALL replies screened and will not post any you would rather not have me post.  Having as many details in your stories is very important...the names of places and buildings, dates, years, etc.  Names can be changed if you wish.

I will not use past posted stories, as I will require your permission to use said story if I actually do finish this.  Even if I don't, I will send all of you what I have compiled.

Either way, this is just the beginning of this adventure (well the prologue is written) and I hope to find real people on Live Journal to participate.

Thank you for your time, and here's to not being a skeptic any longer!

If this is not allowed, I apologize.

The Boat House by walt Hewes 1996
This is where I lived when I first met Lillie Peterson Oaks, the ghost who gave me her story in a number of visitations. Am I insane to believe this? I hope not…

I’m sorry if my writing skills lack the “gen-say-qua” needed. I know that is a French word and I’m sure I’ve misspelled it, but my understanding of it’s meaning comes from family tradition. You do know that the Native America people of Appalachia learned French long before they learned English. I know this means style, technique and something that is beyond words, but writing is about words. I hope my skills as a wordsmith will grow as I continue to tale the story that was given to me by a ghost.

Ghost story

I think I may have mentioned that this story character “Lillie” was given to me by a ghost. Haven’t I? Well…maybe I should share how I ended up having a powerful visitation by a mulatto ghost on a small high-valley organic farm in the middle of nowhere in southwestern Virginia, vaguely near VA Tech, about 15 years ago.

“Don’t worry none about them, they’re just fools,” my ghost reappears to me once they go down the highway, gunning the engine of the big diesel pickup truck. “You remembers dat daylily you moved, da one dat blooms silvery an’ pink? Dat was mine, it marked where my love laid me t’ rest. Our boy built dat house. Oh, I wish’t I’d lived to see it, him treated just like white folk…”

and she faded away again…only to visit me in random dreams, sharing snippets of the toil and strain of her life…

Hi,
My name is Hannah. I'm new to Livejournal and I was researching into topics or communities that I could be apart of.
I am a member of a paranormal group and ghost hunting is my favourite hobby. I have always believed in spirits, ghosts but I have also always been frightened of the unknown. There is nothing more exciting then investigating haunted buildings and to be able to communicate with spirits, definitely fills me with adrenaline.

Hi all,
I joined this community several years ago, cos I'm fascinated with ghost stories, though i have always been pretty much of a skeptic myself. I can say though, that, I have leant towards believing in ghosts as oppose to not; in other words, was 90% believing in them. -- I've had a few things happen to me when I was younger to make me wonder, however, now, I have got quite a few things happening in my place and, I am wondering what you think. and I would like some answers as the events that have been occurring lately have been getting quite annoying.
